Waste Plastic Recycling

Rubbish is a our big enemy. If a lot of garbage in our environment, they will cause much harm to all of us. Trash is a source of diseases. Every day we can produce so much garbage. Waste that can be destroyed and some are not, such as waste plastic. Waste Plastic that we would like to decree anything more useful and reduce is inorganic. Processing process is called recycling.

Where it has been mentioned in the Waste Act No. 8 of 2008, that the waste must be managed. That means we are all obliged to participate in waste management, the way to separate the organic waste with inorganic one. Making it easier for people to recycle trash.

One of the places to recycle waste plastic in Riau is Sofia’s bussines in Ujung Jalan Gajah No. 33 (Kulim). Sofia is open center of the plastic recycling industry that was at home since the end of 2006. Trash recycled by Sofia's mother was acquired from the landfill (garbage dump) and scavengers, scavengers housing. Trash which Sofia chosen to manage the all waste plastic is still intact.

Tricks are done in a clean trash before it is recycled by soaking first, then rub the dirty parts, then soaking it back and give the last in the germ-killing liquid and fragrances.

Once cleaned, the garbage stitch like what we want. To help her waste plastic recycling project, she employs 30 people. Garbage was usually recycled by Sofia into a bag, clothes, sandals, the shoes, hats, place paper towels, aprons, map and more others.

Then the waste that had been recycled to be more valuable things, distribute to Aceh and Lampung province. From this effort, she does not get any profit at all. But merely intended to help reduce plastic waste and help underprivileged people, so they can have income.

"So far there has been no government help and I hope government can help my business in future," said Mrs. Sofia.
